Jones was the sole child in a family of five who lived living in poverty. Her mother was always changing her location and she lived within the basement. Jones was able to move away from her mother and moved to Theodore Roosevelt in order for her to focus on her interest in track. Jones was part of different families during high school to be capable of focusing on her academics. Jones received her Gatorade track and field athlete of the year award in high school. as a cellist in the student section, Jones was also part of the school's orchestra. Jones started her professional career in the NCAA as one of the best hurdlers. She was the winner of the 100-meter hurdle in 2002 at the NCAA Track & Field Championship. She was also an athlete which was 2nd in the 100 meters relay. Jones was the winner of the NCAA Indoor Hurdles competition in the years 2003 and in 2004. Jones, after completing her studies in 2005, began to put in the effort for track. She was the winner of each of in the Torino Memorial and the Heusden Track competitions during the same season.

Brandt is a child of the Cape Town region. She grew up in Cape Town South Africa with her siblings and parents, moved into Auckland New Zealand when she was in her late teens. After being discovered by local casting directors, Brandt took on the role of Naevia in the Starz hits Spartacus: Blood and Sand as well as Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. As a result of her collaboration together with Steven S. D Knight and Sam Raimi's producers, she became an international movie star. Mazikeen was the comic book Vertigo/DC fans' favorite Mazikeen in Netflix's Lucifer that ran for six seasons. Forbes named Lucifer the top-rated show in 2021. Brandt is set to next appear alongside Andrew Lincoln in the limited Walking Dead 6 episode spin-off which will premiere in 2024. The animated adult show Captain Fall will premiere on Netflix in July 2023. Brandt will be starring alongside Jason Ritter Anthony Carrigan Chris Meloni. Lesley-Ann Brandt was born 2nd December the 2nd of December 1981 at Cape Town South Africa. She is a New Zealand actress with a great talent. Lesley Brandt along with the other members of her family moved from the United States to Auckland New Zealand, in 1999. She began her career in Auckland as a retailer after which she was elevated to an IT management consultant. After several modeling assignments, Lesley appeared in many commercials. She completed her acting major and further trained in Meisner ways of learning. Lesley Brandt landed her first important acting role on the screen in New Zealand in TV Drama Diplomatic Immunity. Lesley Brandt was a guest actor in New Zealand's television show Shortland Street. Then she was in the sci-fi drama arrangement This Is Not My Life which is based upon the anecdotal town of Waimoana. Lesley Brandt starred in the TV series Spartacus: Blood and Sand in the role of Naevia, a hostage who later appeared in the Spartacus: Gods of the Arena miniseries.
